The school is well-prepared for Class Resumption in Phases starting from May 27

 

 

Under the influence of Coronavirus, Hong Kong schools have been suspended for three months. The Education Bureau announced recently that classes will resume in phases starting from May 27 (this Wednesday), where S3 to S5 will be the first batch of students to resume classes. Our school is well-prepared for class resumption, with the whole school and school buses being disinfected thoroughly. Also, special measures are formulated which include the cancellation of assemblies, adjustment of class timetables, arrangement of snack consumption for students during recess, special physical set up in classrooms, and the ordering of personal disinfectant items for teachers and students.

 

The second batch to resume classes is P4 to S2 students. They will return to school on June 8.  The fact that junior secondary and senior primary students will resume classes two weeks later than senior secondary students has given us more time to prepare. The school will review all the arrangements continuously based on the actual situation of class resumption of Secondary Section.

 

1. The school bus company has arranged the spraying of anti-virus coatings on all school buses on May 22.

 

2. Before boarding the school bus, teachers and students’ body temperature will be taken and they are required to clean their hands with sanitisers.

 

3. When entering the school gate, teachers and students need to walk through a disinfected carpet passage, and their body temperature will be measured by an infra-red heat detector in the covered playground.

 

4. Automatic hand sanitizer dispensers have been placed next to drinking fountains in the covered playground and near the stairs on G/F.

 

5. An automatic hand sanitizer dispenser has been placed outside each classroom. Teachers and students should disinfect their hands before entering the classroom

 

6. Desks and chairs in classrooms are placed in a single row in one direction, so that students will “face to back” when seated. There is extra distance set among desks. Teachers will also remind students to keep the set distance.

 

7. To maintain air circulation in classrooms, a pair of window will be kept open constantly. The sign "Keep Open" will be posted on the windows.

 

8. Janitors will disinfect popular facilities (for example: faucets, flush chains, toilet doors, etc.) after every recess.

 

9. Janitors will disinfect the classrooms after school.

 

10. If students need to go to the washroom, they should queue up according to the dividing line outside the washroom.

 

11. The school canteen will be temporarily closed, and the cafe Phoenix will only be open to staff. Students are not allowed to buy any food or drinks in the cafe.

 

12. Secondary students who have brought their own food must eat in the Multipurpose Hall or on outdoor patio tables. The school will install safety screens at those designated places to ensure hygiene when students are eating.
