「2+1」International Program – The Path to Success

            An international stream will be established at Pui Kiu College starting from the 2017-2018 academic year to provide an alternative pathway for students to succeed academically, thereby preparing and facilitating them in pursuing tertiary education in the UK, Australia and US. This tailored curriculum is designed to prepare students in all aspects such as the language proficiency, learning practices and expertise knowledge to adapt to the overseas study.

1.         Guaranteed access to NCUK Universities

            Pui Kiu College is the one and only secondary school in Hong Kong to offer an International Foundation Year (IFY). Students who pass the IFY are 100% guaranteed an offer of a place at one of   the NCUK Universities (of which 6 elite universities are members of the UK Russell Group).

2.         Diversified course selections

            The IFY is a tailored curriculum for international students. In IFY, students study less subjects compared to the HKDSE curriculum. Thus, students are able to put more time and effort to strive for better academic results.

3.         Efficient and economical

            The NCUK IFY is a concise and cost-effective curriculum which can be completed within one year at Pui Kiu College. Upon completion, students can gain direct admission to their desired universities, thus saving time and expensive cost of overseas foundation studies.

4.         Specialist support in career planning

            Aiming to provide students with tailor-made university application assistance, upon registration of the IFY, the NCUK Student Services Team will guide students through the application process to the admission to a university in the UK. Member universities will also hold regular briefing sessions at our school to provide up-to-date information on university applications.

5.         Exemption of IELTS for UK studies

            All NCUK IFY streams include an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) module, which is designed to give students the language and study skills required for a head start on their undergraduate degree in the UK. As long as students pass the EAP module, there is no need to sit for a separate English language test to satisfy the language requirement of UK universities.
