Study Pathways of 2019 G12 Students

 

 

(I) Pathways of HKDSE Students

 

1.Our G12 students have performed very well in the 2019 HKDSE Examination, with record-breaking results.   We have 1 student achieving the outstanding results of Level 5** in 6 subjects & Level 5* in 1 subject (being one of the “Bangyan” of HKDSE Examination), 1 student attaining Level 5** in 4 subjects & Level 5* in 2 subjects and 1 student attaining Level 5** in 3 subjects, Level 5* in 1 subject & Level 5 in 2 subjects.

 

2. Pathway of HKDSE Graduates

 

2.1 Admission to Local Universities

►Latest situation regarding the admission of students to local universities via the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) :

Percentage of students being offered government-funded  bachelor’s degree / sub-degree programmes	72%
Percentage of students being admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of HKU / CUHK / HKUST / PolyU / CityU	47%
Percentage of students being admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of HKU / CUHK / HKUST	35%

►Some of our outstanding students have been admitted to “competitive” programmes, including Medicine (Global Physician-Leadership Stream), Dental Surgery, Veterinary Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Radiography, Medical Laboratory Science, International Research Enrichment, double degree programme of Bachelor of Business Administration (Law) and Bachelor of Laws, Actuarial Science, Financial Technology, Insurance, Financial & Actuarial Analysis, Psychology and Architectural Studies, etc.

 

2.2 Admission to Other Prestigious Universities

►A total of 8 students have been admitted to the 2019-20 bachelor’s degree programmes through the “Principal’s Nomination Scheme” of prestigious Mainland universities in late 2018 or mid-2019, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University and The University of Nottingham Ningbo China

►Around 10 students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of prestigious non-local universities, including University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, The University of Sydney in Australia, The University of British Columbia in Canada and National Taiwan University, etc.  We have 1 student admitted to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

 

(II) Pathways of NCUK IFY Students

 

1. Our second cohort of students taking the IFY Programme have excellent performance in the IFY Examination.  They have attained Grade A or Grade A* in the English for Academic Purposes Module as well as the 3 electives.  We have 2 students achieving the outstanding results of Grade A* in 4 subjects.

 

2. Pathway of IFY Graduates

►All students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of their first-choice university via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) of the United Kingdom (UK). 

►All the offers are granted by Russell Group universities (with the universities being within the world-wide ranking of top 100).

►Individual students have made use of their IFY results to apply for universities outside the UK.  They have been admitted by universities including The University of Sydney in Australia, City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University.

 

(III) Destination of 2019 Graduates

 

Around 97% students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree, sub-degree or post-secondary programmes of local / Mainland / overseas universities or tertiary institutes.  The percentage of students admitted to bachelor’s degree programmes is close to 80%.
