Secondary section STEM Day – G8 Hovercraft Competition

STEM education was first introduced in the Nineties with the wish to enhance the scientific literacy of students. STEM activities include domains of Engineering, Mathematics, Technology, and Science. It can cultivate students’ generic skills in order to face challenges in the future.

Our school hosted the STEM Day in mid-May, 2021. Through participating in the Hovercraft Competition, Grade 8 students’ interest in STEM event was greatly strengthened. It was a competition that embodied technology, science, coding and design. In the process, students were able to learn how to design, produce, code, test and modify their creation. They were able to put theory into practice and cultivate creativity, problem-solving skills and hands-on ability.

Grade 8 students showed enthusiastic responses and active participation in the event.
