On November 4, 2022, the young actors and crew of The Voice of Hong Kong Alumni Association and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Incubator came to the school to perform the living newspaper drama "1842".
Through five generations from a century-old herbal tea shop experiencing the Opium War, the “Nanjing Treaty”, the cession of Hong Kong and its eventual return in 1997, the audience can understand the reason, process and influence of the signing of the "Nanjing Treaty". The plot is not only touching, but also full of educational significance and enlightenment. At the end of the event, the actors and the audience sang "Below the Lion Rock" together, pushing the atmosphere to a climax.
Before the performance, a simple yet solemn ceremony was arranged. The guests included Ms. Mak Mei Kuen, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs; Mr. Li Ji Tai, Director of the New Territories Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government, Mr. Xie Yi Ming, Deputy Minister; Mr. Shi Junhui, Deputy Director of the Education Bureau, and Ms. Or Kar Lok, District Officer of Sha Tin.
