Study Pathways for 2024 Graduates

 

IPathways for HKDSE Students

 

1. Admission to Local Universities

 

  • Latest situation regarding the admission of students to local universities via the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) :

Percentage of students being admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of HKU / CUHK / HKUST

  51%

Percentage of students being offered government-funded  bachelor’s degree programmes

  81%

  • Some of our outstanding students have been admitted to “competitive” programmes, including Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, the double degree program in Bachelor of Business Administration (Law) and Bachelor of Laws, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management Science, Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis, Aerospace Science and Earth Informatics & X Double Major Programme, Artificial Intelligence :  Systems and Technologies, etc.
  • A total of 2 students have been admitted to the 2024-25 bachelor’s degree programmes of The University of Hong Kong through the “School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme”, with their fields of study being Architectural Studies and Quantitative Finance, respectively.

 

2. Admission to Other Universities

 

  • A total of 3 students have been admitted to the 2024-25 bachelor’s degree programmes of Tsinghua University and University of Nottingham Ningbo China through the “Principal’s Nomination Scheme” of Mainland universities.
  • Approximately 8 students have been admitted to bachelor’s degree programs at prestigious overseas universities, including the University of Bristol and the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, as well as the University of Sydney in Australia.

 

IIPathways for NCUK IFY Students

 

1. Admission to UK universities

 

  • All the IFY students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of United Kingdom (UK) universities via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) of UK.  All students have been admitted by universities being within the world-wide ranking of top 20 (QS World University Rankings 2025).
  • Around 90% of our IFY students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of Russell Group universities, including the University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, University of Bristol, University of Leeds and University of Birmingham, etc.
  • Programmes to which our IFY students have been admitted include Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Laws, Global Business and Aerospace Engineering, etc.

 

2. Admission to Other Universities

 

  • 12 IFY students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of UGC-funded universities (with 1 of them securing offers from 3 universities and another one from 2 universities) via “Non-JUPAS” route, including the University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong. Programmes to which our students have been admitted include Laws, the double degree programme of Bachelor of Social Sciences (Government and Laws) and Bachelor of Laws, Global Business and Financial Technology, etc.
  • All 29 students have utilized their IFY results to apply to universities outside the UK. They have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of prestigious Australian universities, including University of New South Wales, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, University of Queensland and Monash University, all of which are part of the Group of Eight Australian Universities.

 

(III)Destination of 2024 Graduates

 

On the whole, around 88.9% students have been admitted to the bachelor’s degree programmes of local / Mainland / overseas universities.  The percentage of students admitted to the bachelor’s degree, sub-degree or post-secondary programmes of local / Mainland / overseas universities or tertiary institutes is around 94.1%.
